    MTH Railking MT-7503 Santa Fe 4 bay Hopper car, 3 rail

    This is a  MTH Rail King purple box car from 1995, which I believe was the 1st year of MTH O gauge (not tin) manufacture.  The catalog # starts with MT, for MTH, as this was before the Premier line was started.   The next year, MT- was used for premier and RK- for rail King.  The Premier items got purple boxes, and the Railking boxes were changed to yellow.   After that, MTH went to the 20- for premier, and 30- for railking, which is how it is today. 

    The box for this car is a bit worn.
